A hybrids running largely on their gasoline engines means a hybrid vehicle owner will have to abide to a similar maintenance schedule to fully gasoline-powered vehicles. Oil/filter changes and other routine checks remain important but may be undertaken at longer intervals since the gas engine is relieved by the electric powerplant.

 Common Reasons For Automobile Breakdowns
- Overheating - when the temp gauge gas gone to red or hot, usually after a coolant leak
- Water pumps- usually leaking and cause overheating, possible engine damage from overheating
- Timing Belts- usually break and can cause severe engine damage if interference engine
- Tires- usually come in flat, due to lack of tread and steel coming through
- Fuel Pumps- usually come in as cranks, no start condition
- Broken Belts- usually due to improper maintenance or belt tensioner has seized or broken apart
- Broken Tie Rods- usually come in broken due to lack of maintenance, causes loss of steering
- Broken Ball Joints- usually come in broken due to lack of maintenance
- Alternators- car comes in dead, usually volt gauge has shown discharge or charge light is on
- Batteries- usually last about 5 years or fail early due to bad alternator
- Brakes- usually leaking wheel cylinders or blown brake line casing low or no brakes
- Torn CV Boots- usually driven with torn boot for long time and axle breaks from lack of lubrication
- Transmissions- can go at any time, mostly on higher mileage cars
- Exhaust Systems- usually leaking and noisy
- Ignition Modules- can go at any time, usually causes a no start condition
- Starter- usually come in as a no start, no crank condition, usually have acted up before
